ADLSN to build a library management solution for SASRI:  Koha + DSpace

ADLSN is working with the South African Sugarcane Research Institute (SASRI) to build a library management solution for their analog and digital collections.

SASRI has an integrated library system (ILS) that they have outgrown, and they need a repository for their digital content. They are looking for a solution that provides a single point of remote access for their print collection records and digital materials. The ILS needs to be accessible remotely and the digital repository solution needs to be a robust system to store and preserve their materials and provide complex authorization options for their varied audiences.

To meet these needs, ADLSN will be implementing a Koha + DSpace solution. Both open source software solutions are well supported and are widely used.

ADLSN is an advocate for open access software solutions. And, SASRI is committed to providing as much of their research open access as they can, so choosing an open access solution for them was a great fit.

ADLSN’s Walusungu Simbeye @waluwine  is the Technical Lead and Rosalie Lack @rosalielack is the Project Manager on this project.
